magnesium floatation tank

Alaya Escape has invested heavily in the amazing floatation tank technology due to its profound applications in improving the wellbeing of floaters here at our Sunshine Coast retreat.

Known as Sensory Deprivation Tanks or by a more appealing acronym of R.E.S.T. (Restricted Environmental Stimulation Tank), these tanks are an absolutely amazing way to expand your consciousness, assist in managing severe stress, heal from sporting injuries and develop improved mental clarity, creativity and peace of mind to name a few benefits.

What is floating?

Alaya Escape’s Float Tank contains approximately 40 centimetres of water with around 400 to 500 kilograms of magnesium salt. This high saturation of salt allows you to safely and effortlessly float, giving your entire body a sense of weightlessness.

Once the tank door is closed, it prevents any light or sound from disturbing you. This sensory deprivation allows your mind to enter a meditative and dream-like state that is both profoundly relaxing, often inspiration-inducing and totally re-energizing.

Float your mind

The production of endorphins and the removal of undesirable chemicals during floating stimulates feelings of confidence, happiness and well-being, which helps you pursue your goals in life with maximum vitality and vigour. When you change your body, you also change your mind. The de-activation of the nervous system has a direct effect on the hypothalamus, the brain’s chemical control centre.
